Tarte Tatin | apple + star anise
Who doesn’t love a warm caramelly apple dessert? And our Apple + Star Anise Tarte Tatin is certainly that. Made with beautiful big chunks of Granny Smith apples cooked in our famous Jimmy Liks Palm Caramel Sauce and a hint of star anise. As you know, we like to keep things easy, so just cook from frozen then serve and enjoy.
Granny Smith apples, star anise, palm caramel, puff pastry.
Palm Caramel: palm sugar, coconut sugar, rock sugar, pandanus, turmeric and star anise.
Puff Pastry: Wheat flour, unsalted butter, water, salt and food acids (citric + ascorbic)

Cook from frozen. Remove Tarte Tatin from vac sealed bag and place on baking tray. Remove foil cover. Place tray in preheated oven (160°C fan forced) for about 30 minutes. Turn oven up to 180°C and cook until crust is golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve as is from tray (boring) or get adventurous by placing your serving plate/tray over the Tarte Tatin and carefully (it’s hot) but quickly flip the Tarte Tatin upside down. This is the traditional way to serve (ie: apple side up)
NB all household ovens are different, so keep an eye to not over or under do it.
Serve with a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream and/or custard.
